The Dickson Family

 

After graduating from Cochranton High School in 1984, Mike attended Marietta College and received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro University. In 1987, Mike graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and became a license funeral director in 1989. He was the supervisor at Dickson Funeral Home in Conneaut Lake, PA from 1989 until 2002, when he purchased the Ronald Dickson Funeral Home in Cochranton, PA.

 

He is active in the Cochranton community as a member of the Cochranton Area Redevelopment Effort, Cochranton Sportsman Club, Mason Hall #790, Sons of the American Legion, and a former member of the Cochranton Jaycees. For 14 years, Mike was a volunteer little league coach with the Cochranton Youth League and also was a volunteer coach for the Cochranton elementary school basketball program. Also, along with his Newfoundland dog, Wilbur, they are members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Together they volunteer as a handler and therapy dog at hospitals, nursing homes, and schools.


Mike married Kim Henretty in 1989. She has a Bachelor of Science from Edinboro University and is the Chief Financial Officer of the funeral home and also a Certified Public Accountant with Arnett, Carbis Toothman in Meadville, PA. Together they have three daughters; Kellilynn, Kendell, and Kassidy. Kellilynn is a behavioral analyst at the Achievement Center in Erie, PA. Kendell is an accountant at HBK CPAs & Consultants in Meadvlle, PA and is currently enrolled at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Kassidy is a respiratory therapist at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
